4 + X = 10 means X = 10 - 4
5 x n is written as 5n
'add 5 to a number' is written as ' n + 5'
'A number times 3' is written as '3 x n' OR '3n'
'a number times itself' is written as 'n x n' OR 'n²'
'n divided by m' is written as 'n/m'
